Angie began her musical career at
the age of 12 performing her first concert in the local village hall
to raise funds for her Colchester Stagecoach training.
At the age of 16 she became professional and word soon got
round and Angie progressed from village halls to theatres and
concert halls. Angie achieved a National Diploma in music after
studying for two years at the Colchester Institute.
At the age of 18
Angie produced, choreographed and directed her own theatre variety
show at the
West
Cliff
Theatre in
Clacton-on-Sea.
The show included dancing, singing, a live show band, a
professional magician and, of course, live music from Angie. This
was a huge success and played to packed audiences.
During her career
she has appeared in many musicals and events raising money for
various charities including the Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity
and Children in Need.
Angie also sang in the
Castle
Park,
Colchester at the 2006 Proms
Concert.
Angie made her
debut television appearance in 2005 on ITV’s “Stars in their Eyes”
where she starred as Sarah Brightman and won her heat and
subsequently performed in the Live Final.
This took her singing career to new heights.
As a member of the
Colchester Operatic Society, Angie took the lead role of Mabel in
the “Pirates of Penzance” in June 2006.
Her voice then really started to mature and she has developed
a clear and powerful sound. This, along with her Grade 8 singing
success, made Angie decide to concentrate on her singing career
full-time.
From the start of
Angie’s career she has had the full backing of her parents, who
travel with her around the country, and are now looking forward to a
well deserved break.
Angie is now preparing to join a touring theatre show and is looking
forward to a bright and prosperous future.
